We have tested several Canon lenses and a Tamron lens on the a7R2 body. Every lens has been tested using this adapter. Every lens tested felt like it performed way better after a given time. One minute after turning the camera on, the AF worked better than the first few seconds. All images are, as always, in full res.

Here are the results:

CANON 85 1.2
Does not work at all with AF. Manual focus works.

CANON 100-400 II
Works well up to 300mm. Tracked well. Not as fast as a native lens, though. Does not focus in-between shots (High Burst rate of 5fps).

CANON 135 F2
Does not work at all with AF. Manual focus works.

CANON 70-200 F2.8 II
This lens worked best. Tracked well, even with the 1.4x extender.Not as fast as a native lens, though. Does not focus in-between shots (High Burst rate of 5fps). Lighting conditions were not in our favor, the lens performed well despite that fact.

Does not work that well. Focus picks up sometimes. It depends on contrast and subject. Face detection helps a lot. Without it the lens would be lost, but when faces show up then boom it’s nailed. Does not focus in-between shots (High Burst rate of 5fps).
